Very sensitive and effective circuit for what it is, and I’m sure it can be improved in many ways.Īnother device I’m experimenting with, is a relatively cheap Chinese, pre built RF sensing circuit, Based on the AD8317 IC. it supposed to sense anything between few hertz to a couple of Giga hertz.Īs for the antenna- experiment with different coils, long wires and whip antennas. The antenna in this circuit is a key element and you can totally sense anything from low Frequency stuff like AC power to Am/Fm radio, to WiFi and some blips and clicking noises from electronic devices or nearby phones. The output works ok for headphones-I’ve built it in stereo, each channel has its own slightly different antenna. It takes one CA3140 opamp (might work with a modern single rail opamp like the TLC271 or272 for dual.) but I’ve read somewhere that the CA3140 has the right Input impedance for this type of antenna amplification. So I started playing around with some different RF sensing circuits, having some very interesting results!įirst I’ve built an RF sensing device based on 2 germanium diodes. Unfortunately I can’t order (or wait) for a unit ATM. I’m totally in love with this project from SOMA labs.
